Sustainability becomes hard law

Dear Members of ALJB, ALCO, ABBL and ACA, Sustainability is a major regulatory topic that impacts the whole of Luxembourg’s financial sector.The organizations representing the financial sector, as well as their lawyers and compliance officers, have the pleasure of inviting you to this webinar.

In the first part of the webinar, Me Philippe-Emmanuel PARTSCH will introduce the main legal texts that are, or will soon become, applicable to the financial sector. These include the Non-Financial Disclosure Regulation (NFDR), the Second Shareholder Rights Directive (SRD II), the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), the Taxonomy Regulation, the Climate Benchmarks Regulation (CBR), the Green Bond Standards and the Ecolabel measures. The provisions of the SFDR, which enter into force on 10 March 2021, will be discussed in more detail.

The other speakers will interactively comment on Me PARTSCH’s presentation.In the second part of the webinar, you will be able to choose your break-out session, which will focus on how these legal texts are applied in one field of the financial sector.

Me Martin MAGER will cover the investment funds sector and touch upon some investment fund specific texts such as the envisaged amendments to UCITS and AIFMD.

Mr Julien FROUMOUTH will cover the banking and investment firms’ sectors and comment some specific topics such as disclosures and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) risks requirements and the envisaged amendments to MiFID II.

Ms Sandrine CHABRERIE will cover the insurance sector and discuss some insurance specific texts such as the envisaged amendments to Solvency II and the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD).
